Perennials

We cultivate a wide variety of Perennial plants, from towering Delphiniums and Digitalis, to lower ground covering Nepeta, Geums and Hostas. We have a shady plant area and a large selection of Perennials stocked in the nursery.

Annuals

We have a small selection of annuals available for sale at the nursery but this is not something that we focus too heavily on as we feel Perennials offer much better value for money! If its annuals you are after then come and see what we have.

Biennials

We cultivate a wide variety of Biennial plants and for us this tends to be heavily focused on Digitalis and wildflowers that our bees are in dire need of. They offer several years of interest before dying off but generally self seed freely!

We have some exciting news! Our Plant Nursery is now open to the Public!

Come and see us as we grow some of the best Perennials, Biennials, Annuals and Shrubs in East Anglia.

Here at The Front Gardeners nursery we cultivate a wide variety of Perennial, Annual and Biennial plants, mainly ones we really love, for sale to local gardeners in the Suffolk/north Essex area as well as for display and sale at regional fairs and shows. We have chosen specific plants renowned for attracting bees, butterflies and other wildlife to the garden. We have a particular fondness for Delphiniums, Lupins, Digitalis, Alliums and Cirsiums; growing a wide variety of each.

We are based in Glemsford, close to the Suffolk/Essex border, and try to attend as many regional shows and fairs in the area as time allows – see the Upcoming Fairs page for more details. We hope to see you at one or more of them or even better, come and see us at the nursery.

Originating from a simple north facing front garden no more than 8 metres in length, we have continued to grow and are now producing more plants than ever before. With the aid of a new polytunnel, thanks to a nearby farmshop, once the plants are large enough to pot on to a minimum of 1ltr in size they are moved to this new area to allow them to grow in ideal conditions.

Please do get in contact if you have any specific plant requirements within the ranges that we supply.

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook, and Instagram to keep up to date with shows and see how the plants are getting on!

Thank you for taking your time to visit us here at The Front Gardeners.
